Onward & Upward

Well, hello 2013! Fancy meeting you here. I thought it was still December. Silly me.

Since I'm playing catch up again... let's get this over with.

Stuff you've missed since, ahem... last year.

1. My little lady had a birthday. She's 4 now. And don't you forget it.

We threw a rainbow party for her. As in, ROYGBIV. I believe I recited this in my head around one hundred thousand times while planning, decorating, and baking for said party. ROYGBIV was my BFF. Her are a few pics of the big event.

With an early December birthday I imagine this will not be my last attempt at disguising the Christmas tree for her birthday.
Yes, we served tater tots, mac 'n cheese and mini tacos. Paar-tay!
With this cake, I earned my Mommy wings. Slaving 'til 1:30am to acheive a rainbow cake for a bunch of 4 year olds who had no idea it was any different than a cake straight from the box... or the store for that matter.
The party-goers... Dressed as the rainbow.
The birthday girl. Hubby swears he will make her take a birthday photo in this pose for the rest of her life.

Am I 'pinteresty' or what?

2. Christmas happened. A bit of a blur this year. But Christmas with a baby in the house is downright magical. Crazy. But magical.

Hubby and I were enlisted to lead Christmas carols at L's preschool Christmas party.
Did I mention it was a pajama party? Perfect! Peacocks and Piggy Faces it is! Sadly, we were so boring that the kids took it upon themselves to join us up front and get the party started.

3. Sickness happened. At least one of my family of four has been sick at one time or another since December 18th. That is a pooping long time. It's been trying on the nerves. Disaster for the house. Beds, couches, persons, and floors have been vomited on. An un-heard of number of tissues have been used. Cuddles have been had, and movies have been watched (Thank you Disney. Thank you from the bottom of my heart). Nights were spent in a steamy bathroom and days were spent in our pjs asleep on the couch (and on our feet it seemed). We are on the mend and back to our regularly scheduled programs as of today... And I have a new found deep appreciation for health.

4. The new Blue Bird pjs arrived... And they are gorgeous. Truly. Here's a bit of the fun we've been having with them...

Those last two beauties are two of our most recent Piggy models. Just wait till you see the photos of this sweet family. It's pretty ridiculous. In a good way.

I guess that catches us up. At least for the moment, since Nashville is about to start and I don't want to miss a minute of that Connie Britton. Until next time.. peace, love, and pajamas.
